I will probably bump this thread a few times to get everyone here on Oppo ready for Kinja 1.2.

Holy shit I literally just got used to the current system from the last switch about a month ago. There is a reason other websites don't change their systems up every 6 months to a year, because it pisses people off.

Testing the new look; a few things:
-The white background is a throw-off to me. I liked the mellow gray which generated a lot less light from my screen.
-Just wish in our private view [Article] Post and comments were differentiated.
-And yes the comment system is weird. Expanding it opens the reply automatically which is annoying.
+And I just see comments repeated because of the time stamp as well.

Since when does Gawker care about whether or not their readers are pissed off?

WTF do you mean 1.2? Do you mean 12.0?

Are the going to have a login button? Because currently, the only way I can figure out how to log in is to click the little plus sign to "like" the page. I have to do that every time I get on Jalopnik of Oppo to log in. Is that how it's supposed to work??

Thank you, but a two times posting is more than enough.

Your opinion is duly noted and rejected Roberto.
Thanks

This is how I feel Kinja decides how to sort comments whenever I click a timestamp or an individual comment.
Anyone else?

I'll stay because I like shenanigans and I like Oppo, but what the hell is Gawker IT smoking?
This is, so far, change for changes sake. Reddit has a better and more structured comment layout. Let that sink in for a second.

The comment layout looks familiar and bewlidering at the same time.

I've been trying the new view for a week. I just switched back because I couldn't follow any conversations.
I read on that o.deck post that it's mixed up and not formatting correctly at the moment. I hope that's true.

They do care. Pissed off readers post comments about being pissed off and thus click on their website more times.

As a note, spoke with Nick and Joel about it last week and it's basically my decision as to when we switch. They saw your responses to his comments over on the Product kinja and we agreed to wait. There are a few improvements to the UI I'd like to see made and going to wait to flip the switch until then. Keep it up with the feedback as this is a case where the decisions they make are impacted by your input.

I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it. If a commenting system needs an instruction manual, then it has failed. How many here needed a manual to figure out how to use Facebook or Twitter? Maybe for some of the more complex stuff, like protecting your identification, but to just simply comment on someone else's status update?

Product.Kinja.com FYI to all

I think we need the spinning logo back, because opposite lock. Also, a decent commenting system would be nice, since the new one sucks.

Does this change also roll out to Oppo at the same time or does Porsche decide when that happens here?
